Continuing Studies (CS) is a separate business unit within Langara College that operates on a cost-recovery basis. CS is dedicated to the pursuit of lifelong learning and offers a wide range of credential programs, non-credit courses, and assessments, ideal for anyone seeking to upgrade their skills or knowledge in alignment with their professional and personal goals. Programs can be full- or part-time, classroom or mixed-mode, and may be based at the Main Campus, at our West Broadway location, or off-site at one of three Vancouver School Board high schools. Flexible scheduling options enable students to accommodate their studies with the demands of family, career, or other obligations.
Through its financial contribution, outreach to new student demographics, and robust marketing efforts, Continuing Studies has been key to Langara's success.
CS is organized into five functional departments, each led by a Program Manager:
- Accounting, Business, and Computer Technology
- Creative and Applied Arts & Educational Travel
- CS Testing Centre & CS at Vancouver School Board*
- Langara Language Training Centre**
- Health and Human Services
*In 2014, the former Vancouver School Board (VSB) Continuing Education adult program became a part of Langara Continuing Studies. Now called Langara CS at VSB, Langara maintains a 100-year old tradition of diverse and flexible continuing education programs for hobbyists around Vancouver.
**CS also maintains a partnership with the 1st Mandarin Society to operate a successful weekend Mandarin School.
