Ed Tech and TCDC have compiled resources to help you continue teaching remotely. We are here to help you and have created a resource page on MyLangara (Employees). After reviewing the resources, if you have questions, we are here to help! Please contact:
Sudden disruptions are stressful for both instructors and learners. It's important to remember that moving to remote teaching is not the same as designing a fully online course. In an emergency or other challenging situation, keep things simple for yourself and your students.
For example, Brightspace has many tools, but choose the ones you need to help your students meet your course learning outcomes and ignore the rest. For more information about Brightspace, Zoom and Kaltura, check out these EdTech resources:

The Educational Technology (EdTech) Department provides Langara’s faculty and instructional staff with support in instructional design, media production, and content management. The department facilitates the testing, adoption, implementation and integration of innovative, practical technologies for teaching and learning. In collaboration with IT, EdTech also coordinates pilots of educational technologies and advises on the adoption of classroom technologies.
EdTech Advisors assist faculty and instructional staff in the development and delivery of technology-enhanced courses. Advisors are available for one-on-one consultations, demonstrations, and workshops and can help customize instruction for specific needs.
EdTech Instructional Assistants help faculty and instructional employees with technical questions related to the use of educational technologies in courses.
If your department is interested in exploring or piloting instructional technologies, please contact us at email@example.com.
- deliberate, comprehensive, ongoing faculty development in instructional design and pedagogy related to educational technologies

Brightspace by D2L: a full LMS (Learning Management System) with tools for communication, assessment, content delivery, and course management. For every regular studies section in Banner, a corresponding Brightspace course is automatically created each semester.
Managing Media: Mediaspace is a streaming media platform, powered by Kaltura, which allows students, faculty and staff to upload and share media content across college platforms including Brightspace and iWeb/CourseWeb
Web Conferencing: cloud-based services for audio, video, screen, and content sharing
iWeb: a space for instructional and department pages that do not belong on the main college website, but its use is not limited to those types of pages. Individuals must have a Langara employee ID to request an iWeb site.
CourseWeb: a space for students to create websites, typically for course-based activities. Anyone may request a site.
