On Friday, January 23, Langara welcomed delegates from ELM Saudi Arabia to campus for a visit and an update on the current ELM student group, who are studying in the College's LEAP Program. ELM is a banking company owned by the investment arm of the Saudi Ministry of Finance, and 29 of their employees are currently studying in LEAP (Langara English for Academic Purposes) for one year to improve their English language skills.
LEAP is an intensive English language program that uses an integrated approach to learning, combining speaking, listening, reading, and writing in an applied format. Having the ELM students at Langara has provided excellent opportunities for cross-cultural exchange within the classroom and campus community.
"It's a great honour to host the delegates and discuss opportunities for continued partnership," said Vicki Vogel, Langara's Manager of English Proficiency Programs.
