The Weissach Group is celebrating their 40th anniversary and as part of their celebration, they have partnered with Langara College in their 40 For 40 goal to raise $40,000 for students who have been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. They have pledged to match every contribution.
As many of our students have felt the impacts of the pandemic, many are unable to support themselves and their families. This is why Weissach has committed to raising $40,000 to help take meaningful action for students in need.
Money raised will support specific areas:
- The Laptop Lending Library – giving students access to technology, so they can continue their studies remotely
- The Hamper Program – these hampers are filled with gifts and household items to help make the holiday season a little brighter and support students with families, single-parent students, or those on a low income;
- The Community Cupboard – the parent program to The Hamper Program, which is an on-campus food bank that provides students with nutrient-rich ingredients to make healthy meals
- Emergency Bursaries for students who need it most.
Moira Gookstetter, Executive Director of the Langara College Foundation, was recently on the Jill Bennett Show. Listen to her interview below as she speaks about how the Weissach's Group contribution has helped students.
