This past Friday, I attended The Art of Visual Storytelling, a full day workshop by Oscar nominee and Saturday Night Live director of photography, Alex Buono. Starting in the morning, Alex went through the process of putting together a short film for SNL. We did hands on demos from the start to the finish of the process. Attended by film makers and producers as well as stills photographers like myself, the course was packed with great information for everyone. The evening was an action packed session of examining films for visual storytelling. An inspiring list of film clips and behind the scenes commentary you'll never see on a DVD. The day was incredible and I can't wait to share some of what I learned with our students.
