Langara offers a variety of financial supports to recognize students’ academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and meet their financial needs. There are several awards that students from different programs may be eligible for. The two most common types of awards are:

  • Scholarships: Recognize outstanding students who have achieved high academic standings. Other merit-based awards for community involvement may also be available. 
    • Awards have specific criteria that recipients must satisfy, including being a full-time student, have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or higher, and be in good standing with the College. 
    • General Scholarships require only one application. Apply by May 20.
    • Faculty of Management Scholarships: listed below.
  • Bursaries: Provide critical support to students in financial need.
    • Bursary recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits, be in good academic standing, and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons with proof of status. 
    • Recipients will be notified by the third month of classes and funds will be distributed near the end of the term. Bursary funds should not be counted on to pay for tuition or books. 
    • Only one application required. Apply by May 13.

Scholarships available in the Summer term

No application required

The awards listed below do not require an application. As a Langara student, you are automatically considered for these awards.

BBA | LSU Langara School of Management Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Faculty of Management with the highest CGPA who have completed the first two years of the BBA program. (All terms)

BBA, Diploma | Innovation Networks Business Technology Award is awarded to a student who has completed Business Computer Applications I (BCAP 1200) within the last three terms and demonstrated the most active engagement and leadership throughout the course. If more than one recipient meets the above criteria, preference will be given to the student with the highest CGPA. (Any term)

BBA Accounting | Scotiabank Business Scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final 30 credits of the Accounting concentration in the Bachelor of Business Administration program. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. (Summer)

BBA Marketing | Marketing Management Scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final 30 credits of the Marketing Management concentration in the Bachelor of Business Administration program. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. (Summer)

Nutrition & Food Service Management | Margaret Ottem Scholarship is awarded to a student graduating from the Nutrition and Food Service Management program who has demonstrated the greatest interest, effort and progression in the development of their supervisory and management skills, from the first to the second year of the program. (Summer)

Bursaries available in the Summer term

Application required | Only one application needed. Apply by May 13.

BBA Chrys McQuarrie Business Management Bursary is an annual bursary that provides financial assistance to students in the Business Management Program. In order to be eligible, students must be registered in a minimum of 12 credits in the program and demonstrate financial need. (Any term)

BBAFred Young Bursary provides financial assistance to students registered in the Bachelor of Business Administration program with a minimum of 12 credits and demonstrated financial need. (Any term)

BBAHSBC Bank International Business Bursary provides support to a first-year student enrolled full-time in the BBA Program and has a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.33 with demonstrated financial need. (Any term)

Nutrition & Food Service ManagementCompass Group Endowed Bursary is for students demonstrating financial need, who are registered full-time in the Nutrition and Food Services Management Program. (Any term)

All studentsMatilda Thien Memorial Bursary is for students enrolled at Langara in any course of study. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours. Preference may be given to a working parent and/or those pursuing a business-related program. (Any term)
