To Our Graduates,

Today, we watched you cross the stage to receive your credential.

Your dream of achievement became a reality the moment you accepted that rectangular piece of paper and held it in your hand. It is a precious item in your life; it represents many things, not just your academic achievement.

The Langara School of Management has endeavoured to prepare you in the best way possible for your future career. Through extensive academic rigour with textbooks and tests, and real world experience in the classroom you have also proven yourselves through projects and work experience. Our role was to help you accomplish your goals by guiding you with encouragement and discipline.  We hope that through your time here we have helped you become not just a good student, but a better person.

There are a lot of “we’s” in those statements, but please notice there are a lot of “you’s” as well. You have achieved wonderful things – not just through textbooks, tests, projects and work experience. You may have created friendships that will last your lifetime, keep those close – they are so very precious. You have created a world of your own consisting of knowledge and wisdom through your own accomplishments – you did this, you own it, it is yours for the keeping.

All achievements should never be squandered, but cherished and ultimately shared with the world. Knowledge is academic until you use it and share it – only then does it become wisdom. It is the wisdom gained that we want to see shared with the world to change it and help it become a better more wonderful place.

We hope you grow and continue to learn for your lifetime – be it in business, art, or whatever dreams you have. We want the world for each of you because you have earned it.

All the best,

The Langara School of Management Faculty and Staff
