Each semester, Langara offers a variety of complimentary wellness classes to employees. This site provides a snapshot of the current offerings. Have ideas for future wellness programming? FALL CLASSES

We understand that schedules change frequently, so all classes are being offered as live sessions on Zoom on a drop-in basis this Fall. No pre-registration required! Feel free to try as many classes that will fit in your weekly schedule!

Make sure you wear comfortable clothes, have space to set up a mat, and have a bottle of water and a towel handy! Participation is voluntary and participants are responsible for ensuring their own safety. All levels of experience are welcome.

Pilates Mondays October 5 - December 14

10 week series

Time: 5:30-6:15pm 

Instructor: Christie Stoll

Pilates is a total-body exercise system that requires no equipment. The principles of centering, breathing, and control are used to improve your posture, increase your core strength/ stability and tone your muscles. You'll feel relaxed and yet energized at the end of your session, without getting too sweaty. A perfect after-work exercise class!

Yoga Fusion Tuesdays October 6 - December 15

11 week series

Time: 4:30-5:30pm

Instructor: Yvonne De La Roche

Build confidence, flexibility and strength by uniting body and mind with conscious breathing, deliberate stretching, and sequenced poses ending with guided relaxation to heighten  self awareness.  Affirmations, relaxation techniques and self-care tools are infused to provoke insights on and off the mat. Suitable for beginner and intermediate experience.

Body Sculpt Wednesday October 7 - December 16

10 week series

Time: 4:00-4:45pm 

Instructor: Christie Stoll

Body sculpt is a non-aerobic, total body, muscle toning class that focuses on your core strength. This class will incorporate exercise bands and take you through a routine dedicated to sculpting and toning your muscles, while increasing your overall strength!

Zumba Thursdays October 8 - December 17

11 week series

Time: 4:30-5:15pm 

Instructor: Marisol Ruiz

Zumba is an exhilarating and fun Latin-inspired dance fitness class for all levls. Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and other styles like hip-hop and Bollywood into an easy to follow dance routine to get you moving and having fun. Come party with us for dance, fitness and fun!

Hatha Yoga Fridays October 9 - December 18

11 week series

Time: 11:30am-12:30pm 

Instructor: Christine Brain

A traditional form of yoga practice emphasizing body awareness, balance and breathing. Ha (Sun) and tha (Moon) is the foundation for all forms of yoga practiced today, and has thousands of different postures. In this series, we will explore and build upon foundational asanas (poses), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. The intent with this series is to provide participants with an opportunity to practice self-care on the mat, and to gain tools for self-care off the mat. This class is open to anyone wishing to explore or grow in their own yoga practice, beginners and intermediates alike.
