Each semester, Langara offers a variety of complimentary wellness classes to employees. This site provides a snapshot of the current offerings. Have ideas for future wellness programming? Summer Classes

We understand that schedules change frequently, so all classes are being offered as live sessions on Zoom on a drop-in basis this Summer. No pre-registration required! Feel free to try as many classes that will fit in your weekly schedule!

Make sure you wear comfortable clothes, have space to set up a mat, and have a bottle of water and a towel handy! Participation is voluntary and participants are responsible for ensuring their own safety. All levels of experience are welcome.

Pilates Mondays May 3 - August 9

13 week series

Time: 5:30-6:15pm

Instructor: Christie Stoll

Strengthen your core with this modern take on a classic practice. Achieve better posture, greater flexibility and a tighter waistline. This class is entirely mat based; no equipment is required. A perfect after-work exercise class!

Yoga Fusion Tuesdays May 4 - August 10

15 week series

Time: 4:30-5:30pm

Instructor: Yvonne De La Roche

Build confidence, flexibility and strength by uniting body and mind with conscious breathing, deliberate stretching, and sequenced poses ending with guided relaxation to heighten  self awareness.  Affirmations, relaxation techniques and self-care tools are infused to provoke insights on and off the mat. Suitable for beginner and intermediate experience.

Guided Meditation Wednesdays May 5th - August 11th

15 week series

Time: 11:30am-12:15pm

Instructor: Christine Brain

Guided Meditation is a powerful tool to relieve stress, calm your mind and promote inner peace & harmony. Christine will guide you on an inner journey using pranayama (breath control) sound and visualization techniques. She has been leading guided meditation circles for over 25 years and is a Yoga Nidra meditation certified guide with the Amrit Institute.

Benefits of guided meditation include inner peace, a more joyful outlook on life and a feeling of connection.

All levels are welcome, no experience necessary.

Body Sculpt Wednesdays May 5 - August 11

Time: 4:00-4:45pm

Body sculpt is a non-aerobic, total body, muscle toning class that focuses on your core strength. Sculpt and tone your body withthis challenging but fun combination of strength training and cadio!

Gentle Hatha Yoga Thursdays May 6 - August 12

14 week series

Time: 11:30am-12:15pm

Instructor: Christine Brain

All bodies are welcome to this gentle Hatha Yoga class. The focus will be on alignment of the Asanas (poses) to promote a safe and balanced practice. Pranayama (breath control)

Asanas (poses) and Savasana (deep relaxation) work together to promote a positive outlook, inner peace and a sense of connection and wellbeing.

Christine has been practicing yoga for over 30 years and has been teaching for the last 10 years. She has studied many different types of yoga which have all contributed to her personal style of teaching. Benefits included increased flexibility, improved strength, reduced stress and peace of mind.

All levels welcome, no experience necessary.

HIIT Thursdays May 6 - August 12

14 week series

Time: 4:45-5:30pm

Instructor: Tara King

Get your daily fitness HIIT with our signature class! High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) refers to training intensely for short bursts followed by similar periods of low intesity. HIIT workouts are usually short but intense and burn a large number of calories in a minor period of time. The focus will be on tightening and sculpting some of your best assets, while concentrating on proper form and stengthening. This class is a great way to de-stress, get in some cardio and have fun! A mix of total body, abs, arms and posterior musscle exercises that vary from week to week.
