Langara is committed to maintaining a work environment where all employees are treated with respect. The College is also required by law and under our collective agreements to deliver respectful workplace training to all employees. As an employee, you can complete your training online or in-person, whichever option works best with your schedule. You can also review the resources at the bottom of this page for more information.
Training for Employees
Effective November 2013, BC's Workers Compensation Act passed policies on preventing and addressing workplace bullying and harassment. In order to comply with this Act, we have developed an online Respectful Workplace Training course to:
- provide you with an overview of the policies and legislation around workplace bullying and harassment, and
- explain the legal duties of the College as an employer, as well as your role as an employee in maintaining a respectful workplace.
The entire course consists of 6 modules and will take you approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. Your information will be saved as you go, so you may stop and restart the course at any time. Further details are provided through the D2L course page.
New employees are enrolled by Human Resources at the start of each semester (January, May, September). A confirmation email, including access details, will be sent to indicate that you have been enrolled. If you are not a new employee and are having trouble accessing the course, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would prefer to complete the training in person, you can still register for our onsite training sessions. Note that pre-registration is required - if you would like to attend, please contact email@example.com or 604.323.5638 with your name, employee ID, and desired session time to reserve your spot:
