On Friday night the Falcons traveled up the Sea to Sky Highway to meet the 2nd place Quest Kermodes on their home floor. The Falcons came out of the gate running and gunning and Quest was never able to catch up. At the half, the Falcons were up 55 to 35. In the third quarter a relentless fast break attack and excellent shooting shut the door on a Kermode comeback. Brody Greig was close to a triple double with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and led the Falcons to a decisive 113-80 victory.
On Saturday the Falcons faced the Capilano Blues on the North Shore. Langara struggled defensively in the first half allowing the Blues to shoot almost 50% from the field, and as a result took a narrow 43-42 lead into halftime. The Falcons came out in the third with much more defensive intensity and were able to build a 12 point lead to take into the fourth. The Falcons went on to win 98-83, thanks in no small part to the stellar play of Greig who notched his 6th triple double of the season with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists.
The Falcons continue life on the road this week with a match up at Kwantlen on Thursday, February 6th and at the CBC Bearcats on Saturday, February 8th.
