Brody
PACWEST Week 14 – January 12, 2014
Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
Brody Greig (Langara College)

On Friday night the Falcons opened up the second half of their season by hosting the Capilano Blues. Brody Greig wasn’t affected by any holiday rust and came out with 18 points, 9 rebound, and a 6 assist performance to lead the Falcons to their first victory of the new year 80-68.

On Saturday the Falcons faced the 3rd place team in the conference, the Quest Kermodes. The Kermodes were the only team to beat the Falcons in the first half of the season and the Falcons were looking for a little redemption on their home floor. A standing room only crowd witnessed some great defense by the Falcons in the first half as they were able to hold Quest to 31% shooting and took a 44-34 lead into the half. In the third quarter Brody stepped up his offensive output and poured in 17 points to increase the Falcons lead 78-57 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Langara kept their foot on the gas in the fourth and added another 34 points in the quarter to win the game 112-77. Greig finished the game with 34 points on 12 for 23 shooting, 9 assists and 3 rebounds.

Up next for the Falcons are two more home games next weekend, the CBC Bearcats on Friday Jan 17th and the KPU Eagles on Saturday Jan 18th, both are scheduled to start at 8:00pm.
