Part Time Contract Position

The Department of Athletics & Intramurals at Langara College is currently accepting applications for the position of Athletic Therapist for their Intercollegiate Athletics program, for a one year term, effective August 1, 2017.  This contract is renewable.

Reporting to the Director, Athletics and Intramurals, the Athletic Therapist will provide support to Langara’s intercollegiate men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, and golf teams. Main responsibilities for this position include assessment and management of injuries during athletic events; acute injury management at athletic events; supervision, delegation and education of student trainers; follow up assessment for student athletes during weekly scheduled times; liaise with coaches regarding athlete’s injuries and care. Potential for instruction of the taping labs in the Sports Medicine course offered by the Kinesiology Department.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree within a relevant discipline, along with an Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy (current C.A.T.(C) status in good standing). Current First aid, sport first responder, AED and CPR (HCP) certifications are required. Prefer 3 or more years of practical experience in an Athletic Therapy setting or related experience.

Contract salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
