Position: Summer Camp Instructor, VEX Robotics
Duration: 9:00am to 4:00pm for two weeks, July 22-August 2
Description of Position:
Langara’s summer camps offer a wide range of one and two week camps for teens to encourage discovery, to inspire, and to explore their different interests. Langara is currently recruiting for an experienced instructor to lead the VEX Robotics camp.
The successful candidate will teach participants how to program and build their own custom VEX competition robot using ROBOTIC language. Robots will be used for battling, navigating obstacle courses and be built during class time. It is essential for the instructor to be familiar with, and to be able to teach coding to learners with varying levels of experience.
Applicants should have previous coding experience particularly in robotics, should be able to employ strategies to work with teens of different ages and abilities, and be able to develop lesson plans that may be required to work with camp participants that have learning challenges such as autism, ADHD, and anxiety.
The successful candidate will need to have a current criminal record check (within the last year) or undergo a criminal record check prior to teaching the camp.
Length of Appointment: The camp will run from 9:00 to 4:00 for two weeks, July 22-August 2 at Main Campus.
