Located in beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada, Langara College started in 1965 as part of Vancouver Community College and in 1970, it opened its West 49th Avenue campus. On April 1, 1994, Langara College was established as an independent public college under the Provincial College and Institute Act. The College is also known as House of Teachings, a name given by the Musqueam First Nation, on whose unceded traditional territory Langara is located. Today, Langara is one of BC's leading undergraduate institutions providing University Studies, Career Studies, and Continuing Studies programs and courses to more than 21,000 students annually.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Administration and Finance & Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Operational Excellence develops, and implements College-wide strategic process improvements. The Director provides consultative services, business process reviews, and leadership across departments and academic units, to ensure timely, engaged and effective change management. Additionally, this position is responsible for evaluating the operational effectiveness of projects through the application of process mapping, metrics and stakeholder consultation.
The successful candidate will have a graduate degree (ideally in Business Administration or a professional discipline relevant to the job function) supplemented with approximately seven years of leadership experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of complex enterprise-wide projects and/or strategic and operational reviews within major public or private sector organizations. The role requires excellent interpersonal communication, stakeholder engagement skills with a commitment to building an effective and dynamic organizational culture. Industry certifications such as: Prosci certification, ADKAR, Lean Six Sigma, leadership training and/or PMP
(Project Management Professional) certification are desired.
