About Scholarly Activity at Langara
We are a community of thinkers guided by the four pillars model* of academic scholarship:
- Discovery (advances knowledge)
- Integration (across disciplines or time)
- Application (aids society and professions by providing solutions to problems)
- Teaching and Learning (a systematic study)
One of our academic goals is to actively explore and pursue opportunities for scholarly activity and collaborative research. To this end, we formed a Scholarly Activity Steering Committee (SASC) with representatives from various educational divisions to support the development and maintenance of a scholarly activity and research culture at Langara. Many faculty, staff, and administrators from the Langara community have participated in a variety of scholarly activities over the years. Please explore our site to learn more about their pursuits.
