2012 Fall Semester (201230) September - December

Important Dates - Please pay special attention to the dates stated on this page and the corresponding semester.

Every effort has been made to ensure that information in this Guide is accurate and up-to-date, but this information is subject to change.

September 3:

Labour Day. College closed.

September 3:

Last day to drop regular semester and September - October half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

September 4:

First day of classes for Fall Semester 2012.

September 6:

Last day to drop September - October half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

September 10:

Last day to add courses without instructor permission.

September 10:

Last day to drop regular semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

September 11:

First day for withdrawals for regular semester and September - October half-semester courses. Students who do not want to continue in a course must withdraw from the course and will not receive a refund. A 'W' will appear beside the course on their transcript.

September 12:

Interest and late payment charges will begin to be applied to outstanding accounts. See Fees Information.

September 28:

Last day (before 2100 hours) to withdraw from September - October half-semester courses.

October 8:

Thanksgiving Day. College closed.

October 16:

Last day of classes for September - October half-semester courses.

October 17:

Study day for September - October half-semester courses.

October 18 - 19:

Exams for September - October half-semester courses.

October 19:

Last day to drop October - December half-semester courses (before 1500 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees). To drop an October - December half-semester course you must go to the Registrar and Enrolment Services office before 1500 hours.

October 22:

First day of classes for October - December half-semester courses.

October 22:

Last day to add October - December half-semester courses.

October 24:

Last day to drop October - December half-semester courses (before 1500 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees). To drop an October - December half-semester course you must go to the Registrar and Enrolment Services office before 1500 hours.

October 25:

First day for withdrawals from October - December half-semester courses. Students who do not want to continue in a course must withdraw from the course and will not receive a refund. A 'W' will appear beside the course on their transcript.

October 26:

Last day (before 2100 hours) to withdraw from regular semester courses.

November 12:

College closed in lieu of Remembrance Day.

November 16:

Last day to withdraw (before 1500 hours) from October - December half-semester courses. To withdraw from an October - December half-semester course, you must go to the Registrar and Enrolment Services office before 1500 hours.

November 19:

Registration starts for the Spring Semester 2013.

November 30:

Last day of classes for regular semester courses and October - December half-semester courses.

December 3 - 14:

Final examinations for regular semester courses and October - December half-semester courses.

December 20:

Fall Semester 2012 grades available online.

December 24 - Jan 1:

Langara College closed.

December 31:

Last day of the Fall Semester 2012.

2013 SPRING SEMESTER (201310) JANUARY - APRIL

January 2:

Last day to drop regular semester and January - February half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

NOTE: The U-Pass BC fee is non-refundable for the month in which you officially drop or withdraw regardless of whether a pass has been issued, including the period prior to the start of classes. See U-Pass BC Refunds for more information.

January 3:

First day of classes for regular semester courses and January - February half-semester courses.

January 7:

Last day to drop January - February half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

January 9:

Last day to add courses without instructor permission.

Last day to drop regular semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

January 10:

First day for withdrawals for regular semester and January - February half-semester courses. Students who do not want to continue in a course must withdraw from the course and will not receive a refund. A 'W' will appear beside the course on their transcript.

January 11:

Interest and late payment charges will begin to be applied to outstanding accounts. See Fees Information.

February 1: Last day (before 2100 hours) to withdraw from January - February half-semester courses.
February 1: Last day to apply for graduation in June 2013.

February 11:

BC Family Day. College closed.

February 12:

Last day of classes for January - February half-semester courses.

February 13:

Study day for January - February half-semester courses.

February 14-15:

Final examinations for January - February half-semester courses.

February 18-23:

Spring Break. No scheduled classes. College open.

February 24: Last day to drop February - April half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

February 25:

First day of classes for February - April half-semester courses.

February 25: Last day to add February - April half-semester courses.
February 27: Last day to drop February - April half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).
February 28:

First day for withdrawals from February - April half-semester courses. Students who do not want to continue in a course must withdraw from the course and will not receive a refund. A 'W' will appear beside the course on their transcript.

March 1:

Login to myLangara after 9am to check your registration date and time.

March 8:

Last day (before 2100 hours) to withdraw from regular semester courses.

March 22: Last day to withdraw from February - April half-semester courses. To withdraw from a February - April half-semester course, you must go to Registrar & Enrolment Services.
March 25: Registration Starts for the Summer Semester 2013.
March 27: International Students and Open Career Registration. Students in Career and Limited Enrolment programs may register into courses that may have been unavailable to them during their scheduled registration time.

March 29-April 1:

Easter holidays. College closed.

April 2: Arts and science registration begins.

April 9:

Last day of classes for regular semester courses and February - April half-semester courses.

April 10-11:

Study days for regular semester courses and February - April half-semester courses.

April 12-22:

Final examinations for regular semester courses and February - April half-semester courses.

April 23: FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE for Summer Semester 2013.
April 24-26: Access to registration restricted.
April 26: Students dropped from Summer Semester courses if there is an outstanding balance on their student account.
April 27: Spring Semester 2013 grades available online.
April 27: Registration Period 2 begins.

April 30:

Last day of the Spring Semester.

2013 SUMMER SEMESTER (201320) MAY - AUGUST

March 1:

Login to myLangara after 9am to check your registration date and time.

March 25: Registration Starts for the Summer Semester 2013.
March 27: International Students and Open Career Registration. Students in Career and Limited Enrolment programs may register into courses that may have been unavailable to them during their scheduled registration time.
April 23: FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE for Summer Semester 2013.
April 24-26: Access to registration restricted.
April 26: Students dropped from Summer Semester courses if there is an outstanding balance on their student account.
April 27: Registration Period 2 begins.
May 5:

Last day to drop regular semester courses and May- June half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).

June 17-18: Exams for May-June half-semester courses.
June 20: Last day to drop June-August half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for a 100% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).
June 21: First day of classes for June-August half-semester courses.
June 21: Last day to add June-August half-semester courses.
June 23: Last day to drop June -August half-semester courses (before 2100 hours) for an 80% tuition fee refund (less any non-refundable, non-transferable fees).
June 24: First day for withdrawals from June-August half-semester courses. Students who do not want to continue in a course must withdraw from the course and will not receive a refund. A 'W' will appear beside the course on their transcript.
June 28: Last day (before 2100 hours) to withdraw from regular semester courses.
July 1: Canada Day. College closed.
July 19: Last day to withdraw from June-August half-semester (before 1500 hours). To withdraw from a June-August half-semester course, you must go to Registrar & Enrolment Services.
August 2: Last day of classes for regular semester courses and June-August half-semester courses.
August 5: BC Day. College closed.
August 6-16: Final examinations for regular semester courses and June-August half-semester courses.
August 17: FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE for Fall Semester 2013.
August 17 - 21: Access to registration restricted. See Registration Access Schedule.
August 21: Students dropped from courses if there is an outstanding balance on their student account.
August 22: Summer Semester 2013 grades available online.
August 22: Registration Period 2 begins. See Registration Access Schedule.
August 30: Last day of the Summer Semester.
