President’s Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service

The President's Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service honours graduates of bachelor degree program who demonstrate academic excellence and community service. 

Eligibility Criteria

Graduates are eligible for this award if they:

  • are graduating from one of the following programs:
    • Bachelor of Business Administration
    • Bachelor of Recreation Management
    • Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • have a minimum CGPA of 3.5; and
  • can demonstrate their commitment to community service and provide letters from organizations to support recent community service.

If you meet the above criteria, you may be eligible for a $1,250 award and certificate.

Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation

The Lieutenant Governor’s medal program was established in 1979 to recognize students who have excelled in their studies and who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the promotion of inclusion, democracy, and/or reconciliation on campus and/or in their community.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduates are eligible for this award if they: 

  • are a full-time student with a minimum CGPA of 3.5;
  • have contributed to inclusion, democracy, and/or reconciliation, and have documented their experience via a student letter; and
  • provide reference letters supporting recent contributions to community service.

If you meet the above criteria, you may be eligible for a $500 award and certificate.

The following awards do not require an application.

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Bachelor’s Degree)
Awarded to the bachelor degree program graduate with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,500).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Arts and Science)
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year arts and science program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,000).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Career)
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year career program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($1,000).

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Certificate)
Awarded to the student graduating from a certificate program with the highest cumulative grade point average ($500).

Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal
Awarded to the student graduating from a two-year diploma or associate degree program with the highest cumulative grade point average.
