Vancouver, BC – Langara College is pleased to announce that its search for a new unified enterprise cloud system has been successful. After evaluating responses to its Negotiated Request for Proposals, the College has chosen Workday as its new software provider beginning in 2019. Deloitte has been chosen as the system implementation partner to assist Langara in deploying Workday.

“Deploying Workday will improve our ability to operate as an institution,” said Viktor Sokha, vice-president, administration and finance, and CFO at Langara and executive sponsor for the project. “This change will enable us to better serve our students, faculty, and staff in the years ahead.”

With a unified suite of applications in the cloud, institutions can integrate critical business processes to run in one system and share data across all departments. With Workday, the College will be able to transition away from inefficient manual processes and streamline many of its daily operations. Workday was selected because of its student-centred design focus, self-service functionalities for students and staff, consistent and easy-to-use interface, strong reporting capabilities, and commitment to ongoing product innovation. With Workday’s cloud-based system, Langara will have a modern and flexible technology foundation that will allow it to keep pace with the changing higher education landscape.

“Higher education institutions like Langara are constantly evolving and looking for ways to optimize how they manage their finances and people,” said Stan Swete, executive director, technology, Workday. “With a system that is built to grow, change, and evolve, we are confident that Workday will meet Langara’s needs as an institution.”

In its system implementation partner role, Deloitte will guide the College through the entire process of deploying Workday across the organization. It will involve standardizing and optimizing business processes and organizational change management to help students, faculty, and staff understand and adapt to the new system.

“We’re excited to be part of Langara’s transformational initiative to help them realize the most out of their Workday solution,” said Mark Di Nello, partner at Deloitte. “Langara’s deployment of this software demonstrates their commitment to both innovation and being an insight driven organization—two key factors for success in the rapidly evolving education environment.”

Langara College will be deploying Workday in phases, beginning with replacing its finance and human resource systems in 2019 followed by its student information system in 2020/2021.
