Lynn has been a social worker for a number of years, both as an educator and as a practicing professional. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with her master’s degree in social work, after which she received a National Welfare Scholarship to undertake post-graduate study in social policy at the London School of Economics. Lynn has served as the Registrar for the Board of Registration for Social Workers (now called the College of Social Workers) in British Columbia, and has also served as Chairperson of the Board. She has worked in a variety of areas, including child welfare (she supervised the first Child Abuse Team), school-based social work, clinical work with adult survivors of child sexual abuse and women involved in violent relationships, as well as on several Government-appointed commissions of inquiry. She was also appointed as a panel member for the Children’s Commission. Lynn has taught at Langara College in the Social Service Worker Program for over 20 years.
