STRANGERS ON A TRAIN

A monthly reading series devoted to creating dialogue between writers and writing groups.  Held at the Kino Cafe (3456 Cambie St.), each event features writers from a variety of genres and backgrounds including student writers.  

THE ENGLISH FORUM

A free monthly gathering in which to explore and discuss literature, film, television, and culture of all kinds. Make new friends and discover new stories.

BOOKSHARE

Find your next favourite book or share a book you love. We have fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, plays, poetry, films and even video games. Come by our community bookshelf, third floor Building A, outside room A301.

POSTCARD STORY CONTEST

Write a 250-word “postcard story” and provide an image to complement. Fiction or non-fiction, the style and tone are your choice.  Entries close December each year.

W49 MAGAZINE

Submit your best creative non-fiction, short stories or poetry to the annual Langara College Writing Contest, and you could be published in W49 Magazine.
